Facial Liposuction by Eoin Beckett
Resculpture your Face with Facial Liposuction
Your face is what most people will notice about you first, and what they will remember most about you. It is your physical identity, not just on your passport and driver's licence, but in your every day life. If you harbour any self-consciousness about the chubiness of your face, it will show. Facial liposuction can offer you a way to bolster your confidence and self esteem.
Facial liposuction is growing in popularity amongst both men and women. Diet and exercise have little or no effect on some parts of the face, such as the cheeks, the chin, the jaw line, and the neck, so facial liposuction can be the only recourse to achieving a more sculptured look.
What is Liposuction?
Facial liposuction involves the removal of localized fat cells and their fatty deposits. Although originally developed for removing unwanted fat cells from the stomach and buttocks, the technique has been refined so it can be applied to other parts of the body. Facial liposuction has become a routine procedure.
Facial liposuction may be carried out without the need for any additional surgery. This is especially true for younger people whose skin still enjoys a high degree of elasticity. Older people, on the other hand, may require additional procedures, such as a face or brow lift to achieve the desired results.
Candidates for Facial Liposuction
Most men and women who want to get rid of localized fatty deposits are excellent candidates for facial liposuction. There are, however, certain requirements that must be met. You must be in good health and your skin should be elastic enough to respond to the removal of fat cells unless you are prepared to undertake further cosmetic surgery. Above all, you should have realistic expectations. Of course you will be able to determine whether you are a good candidate for facial liposuction by consulting your doctor.
After facial liposuction, the fatty cells will not be regenerated in the treated area because the body, after puberty, cannot produce any new fat cells. Any weight gain that occurs after facial liposuction comes from the expansion of fat cells that we already have. As a result, in most cases only one session of a facial liposuction would be necessary.
Recovery time
One or two small stitches may be required to close the tiny incisions made by the placement of the cannulas. You will also be required to wear an elastic dressing over the treated area for a few days. You will need to continue wearing this dressing for a couple more weeks at night. A mild pain reliever like Tylenol is all that you will be need along with a cold pack to reduce the swelling arounc the treated areas. The vast majority of patients are able to return to their normal activities two to four days after undergoing facial liposuction treatment.
